Where contractors are successfully locating leaks with LeakTronics leak detection equipment…
Darren Merlob is a small business owner who has been a pioneer in the swimming pool business for more than 20 years. In 1989, starting with just a few pools on a service route, Darren grew to become one of the largest, most profitable pool renovation companies in South Florida.
In 2004, frustrated with traditional crack repair methods (epoxy injection, re-bar, etc.), he developed a revolutionary technique for repairing structural cracks using a patented compression staple. The Torque-Lock ™ staple is used world wide to repair and stabilize cracks in cement and gunite. In 2008, after relocating to Austin, Texas, Darren started Austech Pools: a local, family owned business that specializes in leak detection and leak repair.
Austech Pools started at the height of the economic recession and began in a region dominated and monopolized by a national leak detection franchise. In just a few short years, Austech Pools has stunned the competition and grown to become the most relied upon leak detection company in the Central Texas area.
It is with the same pioneering vision that we introduce LeakTronics.
After many years in the leak detection business it has become apparent that the best available equipment on the market was outdated and based on old technology. At LeakTronics our goal is to bring electronic leak detection equipment into the 21st Century. The LeakTronics Pool Scope, pipe mic and other equipment surpasses the old technology that the industry has relied on for the last 25 years. LeakTronics is on the innovative path within our specific niche of the leak industry.
About one year after introducing the LeakTronics Kits to swimming pool contractors, we started receiving feedback from plumbers who also were frustrated with their existing equipment.
In 2010, LeakTronics started reasearch and development and testing new products for the plumbing specific trade. In early 2011, LeakTronics began distribution of the PC Complete Kit which turned out to be a major hit with plumbers, irrigation contractors, HVAC contractors, fire sprinkler installers and industrial contractors.
